Elder Marion Radawetz
Elder Marion Radawetz is a proud Syilx Okanagan woman, she was born and raised, still resides and works from her home on Westbank First Nation lands. She is married with no children but comes from deep and widespread Okanagan family roots. The land and water of the Okanagan Lake and surrounding mountains are her medicine that feeds her mind, body and soul and keeps her balanced.
Marion came to the BCFNJC bringing a diverse lifetime of skills/experience. Including, but not limited to, communications and great interpersonal/people skills, a large complement of First Nations governance, organizational, public service, and public speaking experience. Marion has always been committed to certain matters that affect First Nations people as a whole such as: housing, policing, justice and sustainable programs that can build capacity at the individual community level, and First Nations self- determination in those areas. One of her favorite sayings is “There is no try, just do.”
Over the years Marion has gained valuable insight and experience by working with diverse groups of people in diverse situations that has gifted her with a deep sense of empathy, understanding and compassion for those around her. She loves to motivate, elevate and inspire with a unique awareness to the wellbeing of others.
